L’Aventure Restaurant at Club de Golf Ile de Montréal

We are looking for experienced staff for our restaurant and snack bar. We have openings for waiters and waitresses, cooks, assistant-cooks, and dishwashers. Please send your resume by email to hugom@cgimgolf.com, or by fax to 514-642-2827.

Golf course maintenance

Turf staff are involved in functions such as grass cutting, irrigation, drainage, tree planting and other course maintenance functions. We need equipment operators and operation and safety training is supplied.

These positions involve early morning starts and ideally you have prior knowledge or experience in turf maintenance and/or in a related educational program.

Qualified applicants will be fit, healthy and strong and have good levels of stamina. You need to be self-motivated and able to work well unsupervised and as part of a team.

Problems faced with on the job tend to be somewhat routine and may require some decision-making ability.

Horticulturist/Gardener

This position offers the successful applicant the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment while being exposed to all facets of gardening. Various duties may include weeding and tilling, watering, planting, pruning, preparation of flower beds and general clean up and maintenance. Ideally you will have previous experience or education in horticulture.

Successful applicants will be self-motivated and able to work well both unsupervised and as part of a team. You will also be creative, practical, friendly and organized.

Irrigation Techs

Your responsibilities will include record keeping plus the daily maintenance and operation of the irrigation and drainage systems in addition to making recommendations concerning watering schedules and practices.

Mechanic

The mechanic is responsible for ensuring that all the turf equipment and golf carts are in good working order. You will be required to keep all machinery, tools and service equipment in safe working order and to keep detailed records of scheduled and completed equipment maintenance and repair.

You must practice and enforce all aspects the Club de Golf de l’Île de Montréal Maintenance and Health and Safety Policy Manuals as well as be able to help train the staff on equipment maintenance and safety procedures.

Having a thorough understanding of engines/hydraulic systems/reels is required plus five to ten years of experience. A class “A” or mechanical certificate is an asset.

Starters

Starters ensure in close collaboration with the marshals that all players tee off as scheduled according to the tee sheet.

Some of your duties and responsibilities include documenting the exact tee off times, informing players of the “rules of play” and any daily rules to follow, and notifying all groups of their pace of play.

Qualified applicants must have superior customer service experience, knowledge of the golf industry and the policies and guidelines for the game of golf.

Marshals

Marshals ensure that an adequate pace of play is maintained, thereby making the game more enjoyable for everyone.

Your duties will include identifying groups that are out of position and assisting them to play within an acceptable pace of play. You will also document the elapsed time at different intervals and estimate the time of the round at the current pace. You must have excellent communication and customer service skills with knowledge of the policies and guidelines for the game of golf.

Drop bag attendant / Carts

The drop bag attendants are the ones that welcome our members / visitors. They ensure that the players start their round of golf with a smile on their face. They also ensure in close collaboration with the starters that all players tee off as scheduled according to the tee sheet.

They are responsible that the reception area is always neat and clean, golf club washing, golf cart cleaning and bag storage. You may also assist with course set up for tournaments and other duties as assigned by the golf management.

You will be required to interact and assist members and guest on various issues. Exceptional customer service, time management and organizational skills are a definite asset. Ideally you will also have previous golf experience.

Golf Shop Clerk / Receptionist

They are responsible for taking calls from both members and public daily fee golfers and booking tee off times. They also provide general information to callers about Club de Golf de l’Île de Montréal and the courses as requested.

There will be times when agents are called upon to assist other departments with various types of projects. Qualified applicants will possess strong customer service experience, good organizational skills and the availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

You will work inside the golf shop, helping members and guests with purchases, maintaining inventory and attending to member services issues. You will be responsible for working the POS systems and handling cash and credit transactions.

You should have prior knowledge of the golf industry, perhaps with an emphasis or interest in merchandising and have excellent customer service skills.
You must also have a strong working knowledge of MS office products and POS systems.

Building maintenance

The building maintenance employee will be responsible to make sure that the equipment in the rest rooms (toilet bowl and sink) are in good working order. The employee will also be asked to replace burned bulbs and make repairs to any damage on the building.

He will be responsible to order all necessary products for the cleaning of the kitchens and rest rooms. The job also requires to make daily decisions regarding the work to be done as required. Six months to two years of experience would be an asset.
